About Us
Founded in 2008, TMT Law Practice began as one of India’s first boutique law firms built exclusively around the Technology, Media and Telecommunications sectors. Headquartered in Delhi, at the heart of India’s policy and regulatory ecosystem, the Firm has since evolved into a full-service practice with a deep focus on the digital economy, while retaining the sector depth and specialisation that has defined it from the outset.
Over the years, the Firm has built deep, specialised capabilities in telecom, commercial space, media and entertainment, emerging technologies, data protection, and intellectual property, alongside strong core practices in corporate and commercial transactions, private equity and venture capital, insolvency and restructuring, employment law, and dispute resolution. TMT Law Practice also plays an active role in policy and legislative drafting across industry verticals, working closely with regulators, industry bodies, and clients to shape practical, forward-looking legal solutions that keep pace with a rapidly changing business and technology landscape.

The Team
Vinod MalhotraPartner · New Delhi
Mr. Vinod Malhotra is a former IAS officer with over 38 years of distinguished service across industry, finance, rural development, environment and the arts & crafts sector. As Development Commissioner (Handicrafts & Handlooms), he conceptualized Dilli Haat and helped establish the India Expo Centre, Greater Noida. He has represented India in WTO-related trade negotiations and served as National Consultant to UNDP on major design and craft initiatives. A trained Hindustani classical musician, he has composed musical renditions of the Bhagwad Gita and has been associated with several cultural organizations. A prolific author, he has written 26 books in English and Hindi on the Bhagwad Gita, management, spirituality, science, leadership and culture. His poetry works are published under the series Kavya Sangam. He has delivered over 200 lectures across India and is visiting faculty at leading institutions including IIMs and Jaipuria. Mr. Malhotra currently heads the NGO Sevachild and serves as Principal Advisor to TMT Law Practice.
Vartika MalhotraPartner · New Delhi
Vartika Malhotra serves as the Chief Executive Officer and was elevated to Partner at TMT Law Practice in December 2024, recognizing her strategic leadership and enduring contributions to the firm's growth and success. With a unique blend of business acumen and professional insight, Vartika has been instrumental in shaping the firm's vision, driving innovation, and enhancing operational efficiency. Under her leadership, the firm has expanded its footprint, strengthened client relationships, and embraced cutting-edge legal technologies to deliver high-impact solutions. As CEO, Vartika focuses on organizational development, client strategy, talent management, and financial performance-ensuring the firm remains agile and competitive in a rapidly evolving legal landscape. Having worked closely with senior partners and clients across diverse practice areas brings a multidisciplinary perspective to the partnership. Her elevation to Partner in 2024 marks a seamless integration of executive management with the legal core of the firm-reinforcing a leadership model that is collaborative, future-focused, and client-centric.
Rajeev ParasharPartner · New Delhi
Rajeev Parashar is a Partner at TMT Law Practice. He has experience of more than 20 years, spanning a wide variety of in-house roles and independent practice, including as a Company secretary. He regularly advises clients on transactions involving Equity Capital Markets, such as Initial Public Offerings (IPOs), Follow-on Public Offerings (FPOs), Qualified Institutional Placements (QIPs), Rights Issues, Preferential Allotments, etc. He also has extensive experience in advising on various transactions, including M&As, PE/VC funding, MSME structuring, SME IPOs, ESOPs, as also the compliance and FEMA aspects thereof.
Alaqshendra SinghAssociate Partner · New Delhi
Alaqshendra Singh is an Associate Partner at TMT Law Practice, where he advises on corporate-commercial transactions, complex regulatory issues, and public policy matters across digital-first sectors such as cloud computing, artificial intelligence, new-age media, telecommunications, satellites (NewSpace), e-commerce/quick commerce, gaming, mobility and other emerging digital ecosystems. He has extensively advised businesses of varying sizes, from early-stage startups to established multi-nationals, on contentious and non-contentious issues such as market access, corporate structuring, commercial partnerships, regulatory issues, internal governance, critical transactions, strategic policy advocacy, employment issues, and other related issues.
Throughout his career and beyond his routine engagements, he has been deeply embedded within client's organization where he has (i) led Indian legal operations for an global audio entertainment platform, (ii) acted as lead counsel for a leading regional music label , (iii) acted as a product counsel for a leading skill-based gaming company, (iv) acted as special projects counsel for a multi-brand retail conglomerate to advise on newly acquired business/new formats, (v) acted as a product counsel for a global cloud based CRM platforms for their marquee offering while advising on roll-out of their AI products/features, and (vi) as an Information, Digital, Privacy and AI Governance Counsel for a Fortune 500 manufacturing company.
Outside of work, Alaqshendra enjoys diving with over 20+ dives recorded across Southeast Asia, cooking different cuisines for his family and friends, and enjoys playing the guitar to cover his favorite artists such as Eric Clapton, Jeff Buckley, Mark Knopfler and the likes.

Nishtha ChaturvediAssociate Partner · New Delhi
Nishtha’s practice brings together her background in dispute resolution with her current focus on commercial advisory, regulatory strategy, and technology-focused legal work. Having started her career in dispute resolution at Bharucha & Partners, and having subsequently worked with the disputes teams at Luthra & Luthra Law Offices and Saraf and Partners, she brings a strong understanding of risk, enforcement, and litigation strategy to her current advisory and transactional work at TMT Law Practice.
With close to a decade of experience, Nishtha now advises clients on commercial contracting, regulatory strategy, and legal issues arising across technology, media, gaming, e-commerce, consumer-facing businesses, and digital platforms. Her disputes background allows her to approach commercial arrangements with a risk-sensitive and enforcement-oriented lens, helping clients structure legal positions that are practical, business-aligned, and defensible if tested.
At TMT Law Practice, Nishtha regularly advises clients on complex commercial arrangements, contractual risk allocation, regulatory compliance, and evolving policy frameworks. She works closely with clients across the full spectrum of their legal requirements, advising them not only on sector-specific issues but also on the commercial, regulatory and contentious risks that arise across their business operations. She has advised and represented clients across a wide range of matters, including commercial disputes, corporate insolvency, consumer disputes, competition issues, GST and taxation related issues, IPR litigation, corporate criminal matters, and regulatory proceedings.
She also assists clients with drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial agreements, preparing strategic representations, and navigating legal and regulatory issues in fast moving digital and technology led sectors, including online gaming and digital commerce.

Siddhant GuptaPrincipal Associate · New Delhi
Siddhant Gupta is a Principal Associate at TMT Law Practice, with over seven years of experience advising on regulatory, commercial, and policy matters across technology-driven sectors, including satellite communications, data privacy, digital healthcare, gaming and entertainment, and emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, cloud infrastructure, and blockchain. He advises multinational satellite operators, digital platforms, enterprise SaaS providers, healthtech companies, and technology ventures on market entry, product counselling, regulatory structuring, commercial contracting, and cross-border digital operations, with a particular focus on India’s evolving technology regulatory landscape.
His practice spans telecommunications and satellite licensing in India, covering spectrum and GMPCS compliance, lawful interception and monitoring obligations, and advising on data localization frameworks. He also advises on data protection compliance across European and Indian regimes, including DSAR compliance, consent management frameworks, data mapping and audits, and cross-border data structuring, along with implementation and training support. In addition, he regularly advises on regulatory issues relating to digital payments (including prepaid instruments and PCI-DSS compliance), intellectual property strategy, and advertising and content regulation across digital and broadcast platforms.
Siddhant has significant experience advising digital gaming and entertainment platforms on regulatory structuring, market entry, in view of the evolving frameworks governing real-money gaming, betting, and esports in India. He also advises digital healthcare platforms on compliance relating to the online sale and advertisement of pharmaceutical and medical device products.
He is actively engaged in public policy and regulatory development, advising industry bodies such as the FICCI, BIF, USIBC on evolving technology regulatory frameworks, and supporting clients on consultation responses and policy advocacy across digital media, satcom, healthcare, and media sectors.

Manya AhujaPrincipal Associate · New Delhi
Manya is a Principal Associate at TMT Law Practice. She graduated from the B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) program at Jindal Global Law School in August 2021. Her practice focuses on intellectual property, media, and technology laws, with significant experience in digital platforms and advertising-led businesses.
Manya regularly advises clients across the media and digital ecosystem, including digital news platforms, OTT services, and content-driven businesses, on content, advertising, and platform-related compliances. She also works on structuring and negotiating media and advertising arrangements, including media buying deals, programmatic advertising, platform integrations, and content licensing. She has advised a vast range of clients on data protection and privacy compliance in the context of digital advertising and platform operations, including data collection practices, consent requirements, and data sharing with third-party partners. She has experience in supporting businesses on compliance with Indian and international data protection laws, as well as advising on cross-border data issues across jurisdictions.
In addition, Manya possesses strong expertise in intellectual property advisory and enforcement, including drafting and negotiating IP, media, and commercial agreements, conducting due diligence, and advising on trademarks, copyrights, and designs. She has managed large IP portfolios, handled trademark prosecution matters, domain name disputes, and litigation across forums in India, and regularly advises clients on brand protection and enforcement strategies.

Tina Ann OommenPrincipal Associate · Mumbai
Tina Ann Oommen is a Principal Associate at TMT Law Practice. She has a background in commerce and has graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Law from Symbiosis Law School, Pune in 2018. She is enrolled with the Bar Council of Maharashtra and Goa, has a keen interest in technology, Intellectual property (IP), data protection and dispute resolution laws. Tina has worked with a leading multinational IT & ITeS company where she gained experience as a corporate transactional lawyer. Her work included review of agreements, licensing terms, negotiations, managing the intellectual property (IP) portfolio, and maintenance of technology applications and open source and licensed software. She also extensively advised the business teams on export control transactions, policy making, data protection, employment and dispute resolution. She has acted as a product counsel for a global cloud based CRM platform for their software offerings while advising on roll-out of their AI products/features.She routinely advises corporate clients from various sectors such as information technology, fintech, payments, gaming and digital products and other general corporate and disputes matters under Indian laws. Tina has transactional experience including carrying out due-diligence and general corporate advisory.
Apart from being a lawyer, she is an avid reader, a history and adventure enthusiast, enjoys cycling, long hikes, photography and travel.

Shivani Mishra is a Senior Associate at TMT Law Practice, where her practice spans intellectual property, commercial contracts, and media and entertainment law. She graduated from the B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) program at Jindal Global Law School in August 2021 and subsequently pursued an LL.M. in Intellectual Property and Technology Law from Jindal Global Law School.
She has experience drafting and negotiating a wide range of commercial contracts, including content, brand, and platform-led engagements across the media and digital ecosystem. Her work also includes handling end-to-end trademark and copyright matters, including filings, prosecution, oppositions, and enforcement, and advising clients on brand protection strategies. Gaurav PandeySenior Associate · New Delhi
Gaurav Pandey is a Senior Associate at TMT Law Practice, where he specializes in the technology, telecommunications and space sectors. His practice focuses on regulatory strategy, compliance advisory, and policy advocacy, providing institutional support to clients within these rapidly evolving industries. An alumnus of Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law (RGNUL), Patiala, Gaurav has developed a technical focus on the regulatory frameworks governing financial instruments, satellite communications, and emerging technologies.
Gaurav provides strategic counsel to domestic and international clients, focusing on several core areas. In telecommunications and space, he advises on licensing, regulatory filings, and the intricacies of India’s space and telecom frameworks. His work in data governance includes providing advisory on data privacy, localization, and the digital economy. In the field of transactions and structuring, he represents clients in foreign investment structuring, media and content transactions, and cross-border commercial deals. He also assists clients with commercial contracts by negotiating and drafting agreements across the sports, e-commerce, and technology sectors. He advises clients on market access through risk assessment and compliance requirements for entering and operating within the Indian market.
Beyond his legal practice, he maintains a keen interest in football and is an avid reader of science fiction and postmodern literature.

He regularly advises on data protection and privacy frameworks, cybersecurity compliance, licensing and sectoral regulations impacting digital platforms and telecom operations. In addition, he has experience navigating open source considerations in commercial deployments, particularly in relation to licensing obligations and integration risks, alongside broader corporate and cross-border transactional work. Outside of his legal practice, Ajshal is a devoted supporter of Chelsea FC and enjoys dirt biking.
